Embrodered Portrates
Thought this was pretty cool embroidery so I gave it a try in Photoshop.
I started with black and white photo, I'll have to give color a try next to see if I can approach the effect of knowing how to embroider for real.

Solar System Necklace
So I saw this cool solar system necklace the other day so I decided to make Sarah one. It's roughly to scale each bead being 10 or 100 million miles. The beads are made of painted burl wood. I felt bad painting the burl but it turned out pretty good. I tried silver wire for Saturn's rings but couldn't get it to look good so I settled for a burl ring there.
The cheesy coolness of this necklace is the absence of the sun, it being the wearer, the light of my life, the center of my
solar system, Sarah.

The End - The Beginning
Eventually they were told about the comet. "Get supplies... inside...anything." Too late. Food, water, gone, procured for Project Second Genesis... our progenitors. Humanity's survival left no alternative. Now, just west of dawn, the seemingly endless night ending, we prepare to return, and fear, could anything survive above? Cold, dark, desolate. Are they waiting?
Legend tells of those who fled deep into the earth, leaving us destitute, leaving us to die. Someday they'll crawl from their culvert, after centuries of endless winter nights, to claim our world. Remember their machinations, their forked tongues. When dawn returns we'll be waiting, to redirect the comet's fury.

50 Word Stories
I know it's behind me, not watching me, it has no eyes. Then, out of nowhere, it's stunted figure appears, stubby arms flailing. Slowly, silently, it takes on the form of a man, then stretches out into a distorted gangly shape evaporating into the darkness. My heart races. I run.

Do we need all these options? I want only the best. A better model comes out every year, why not get a cheap base model and upgrade yearly? Have you seen the cost of upgrades? Right, let’s go high end. Where’s the salesman?Doctor, we’re ready to have a baby.

So warm, so nice. Oh look, the farmer, ouch! Its dark, its cold! Oh look, it’s farfnuckle! Now who’s this, hey, no pulling! Ahh, its warm again. What’s that shiny thing? Ouch! Finally, peace, but wait…I’m sinister, what has changed? I think I’ve lost weight too! So warm, I’m glowing!
