Lost Theories (If you’re done with Season 2)

So does anyone have any good theories about what’s going to happen in season 3? Or what we've learned in season 1 & 2?

Lock is now down there with Jack on my don’t like’em list, and Eco has taken his place as my favorite (if he’s not dead).

I liked the episode that made you wonder if it was all in Hurley’s head.

What are they going to do with the LOTR looking 4 toed foot?

What’s the deal with the Others? What’d they learn from Walt?

I’m not a fan of Desmond’s rich girlfriend trying to find the Island…so much for LOST.

Why didn’t they all die when the numbers were not punched in?
And what was the difference between turning the key and letting it blow-up it’s self? (I think I know this one).

And any others you can come up with.

From what I can gather, the hatch was built after an “incident” occurred on the island (probably much like what happened when the key was turned or when Desmond didn’t catch it in time and crashed the Oceana Plane) Remember the Dharma Initiative picked that island because if it’s unique electro magnetic properties. Well I’m guessing after the incident the hatch was built as a regulator to manage the “EM anomalies” and the key disabled this i.e. no need to push the button anymore. So I’m guessing we can expect the “EM anomalies” to continue unabated now in season 3 giving Desmonds girlfriend a good map toward the island.

I thought they didn't die b/c Desmond turned the "key" in time

It would be too much of a coincindence that all of these people are connected randomly. I mean, we are to believe Claire and Jack are half-siblings are we not? Where are they going with that? Could it possibly be that they are all just dead? Driving me crazy.

Or, it could be in Hurley's head. I mean, something weird is going on b/c remember the big green bird that was saying Hurley's name in the last episode? What was that all about?!

IF you want to get some more information on what is going on in the series google the hanso corporation.

Check out TheHansoFoundation.org if you want some extra info, if you don't then just ignore it.

Sorry for spamming the forum, but here is a cached version of the no longer in existence Hanso Foundation website.

Amy:
I missed the Claire and Jack thing, what was that? I didn’t recognize the lady answering the door in Australia when Jack's dad was talking about his daughter. You think his daughter was Claire?

I was thinking during season 1 that they were all dead, but I’m liking that idea less and less.

If all the connections of people came back to Hurley then it all being in his mind would be interesting. He’s not connected to all of them yet. Though there is something there with the connections all these people have. Desmond is the only one who wasn’t on the plane that we know connects to the group. It’ll be interesting if we get some connections between the French lady and the group. I doubt we’ll learn much about the Others connections any time soon.

I rewound the big green bird think and I think Sawyer was just humoring Hurley with the name thing.

Matthew:
How’d you find the Hanso Foundation? I’ll have to take a closer look some time. I didn’t see anything LOST related at first glance.

I want to know what the deal with Libby is. I'm intrigued. Why was she in the mental institution? Was she really a clinical psychologist, or just called herself one because she was around a bunch for a while?

I have a feeling Libby will stay dead...though we may have some flash backs. Then again we've seen a few dead people already. I’m guessing her only connection is to Hurley in the mental institution, and giving the boat to Desmond. We may learn a little more about her but I’m not sure where it’d lead. If she wasn’t going to die, Jack killed her with the Heroin overdose.

Things we still need to learn:

Why Libby was in the mental institution.
Why Loc was paralyzed.
Who Jacks dad was visiting in Australia (Amy seems to know more about this)

The full video. Dharma looks very "The Foundation" Harry Seldon and all.

4+8+15+16+23+42 = 108 * 5 (episodes?) = 540 (time to stay at station 3)

But that's nothing look at:

for some good LOST numerology.

It's psycho what some of them have come up with. Check out the "Constellation Connection" theory and get those guys a padded room.

so is Desmond dead? I think the failsafe - well it was understood that yes, if you get tired of pushing the button - you can get rid of the problem once and for all by turning the key - but turning the key will kill you. Who thinks that Desmond is dead? What about Lock and Mr. Echo? I'm pretty sure that Lock is on it for this season - so I don't think he & Echo are dead but I like poor Desmond as a character and want more of him this season as well

"A human being is part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. We experience ourselves, our thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest. A kind of optical delusion of consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us.

Our task must be to free ourselves from the prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty... We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if humanity is to survive."

OK, as far as Desmond being alive who knows? But I have a feeling “He” is alive now. The Yin/Yang (swan symbol), Black/White (season one), its all two halves of a dangerous whole. The hatch was there to make sure that the white half of the black smoke was imprisoned. The destruction of the earth wasn’t ever from the possibility of the EMP blast; it was from “Him” getting free. 3rd season we’ll learn a little more, but if you remember how strange Charlie was acting (just smiling like nothing happened) after the Hatch imploded and possibly killed Lock, Mr. Eco, and Desmond. Anyway I don’t think Charlie is who we think he is anymore. I think “He” has been released to reek some havoc on the 3rd season.

Who is this he you are talking about? Also, on the clair and jack being siblings I don't know if that is the case. The mom seemed really against Jack's dad coming in to see his daughter. However, at that time Claire wasn't even living with her parents because they were mad that she got pregnant. I just want to know what the deal with the black smoke is. And I think third season will focus a lot on the others now that jack, kate, and sawyer are there.

We don't know who "He" is but the question was asked a few times in season 2 "Are you Him?" I think this "Him" will be significant in the 3rd season.

Oh yeah! Thow whole, what does one snow man say to another snow man thing? That is so weird. I still can't believe that nastly little man is the "leader" of the others. I hate him so much! Rosseau was right, he should have been killed!

Anonymous said...

Yah, though I think that the Arab guy was right, Rosseau was in on it.

Anonymous said...

Rousseau was in on it? I don't remember Sahid saying anything about that...that would be a twist!

I agree Meghan, the Other guy is creepy! Your mom and Michael drive me nuts for liking him. And how he locked the lady Other in with Jack when he was about to open the door and drowned. That had better all been part of their plan or he's just all around evil.

Yes, the first episode bored me. It didn't even make me interested in what the Others are up to. It's only what might happen to the survivors still at camp that's keeping me interested at this point.
